Nestled on the banks of the river Euphrates, towards Shamiya, lies the Nasiriyah Museum. This magnificent museum was founded in 1969 by the Portuguese Gulbenkian Company, to preserve and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region. The museum building boasts an impressive architecture that houses 14 halls, with a plethora of artifacts on display, equally distributed across two floors. The museum also features an administration wing, a library hall, and a Department of Antiquities Inspectorate. The Nasiriyah Museum is a treasure trove of ancient artifacts that offers visitors a glimpse into the region’s fascinating history and culture.
